Night Naked: a climber's autobiography

Night Naked is the life story of Swiss mountaineer Erhard Loretan (co-written with journalist Jean Ammann). The third person to summit all 14 of the world's 8,000-meter peaks, Loretan was an influential climber who wrote with humor and candor about his life in the mountains. Night Naked has been shortlisted for the 2017 Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature. The Boardman Tasker Award selection committee noted, "This first account of Erhard Loretan’s achievements in English is well paced and literary, characterised by a wide, lively, thoughtful choice of vocabulary, interesting figurative language and self-deprecating, ironic humour."
